Didactics for SLD-SEN
The purpose of this section is to favour the learning of the new didactic model at the basis of our Italian school system, that is to say an “inclusive” school: what does this actually mean?
The school of today is an increasingly complex one which has to guarantee all students the right to learning, also to those in difficult though not “certified” situations whose difficulties are linked to social, economic, linguistic, cultural or other disadvantage.
These students are recognised, by law, the right to an individualised and personalised learning system, with the idea of taking global and “inclusive” responsibility for all the students.
Our current legislation considers distinctly:
SLD (Specific Learning Disorders), i.e. difficulties subject to medical certifications;
SEN (Special Educational Needs), i.e. difficulties without a diagnosis or medical certification (laws introduced in the school year 2012-2013).
If you follow the two links indicated (also available in the navigation menu), you can find some teaching tools which I hope will be useful to both students and teachers. They are divided into English and Latin tools, by course year, and they are designed to meet not only the needs of those who are in difficulty but also those of anyone who wants to try a new method of learning.
